At the Victoria International School of Sharjah, we believe the future of society lies in the hands of today’s students. We are dedicated to nurturing not only leaders who will shape the world, but also lifelong learners who will continue to question and improve it.
Our goal is to provide your children with an education that equips them with the skills, confidence, and character to become the leaders of tomorrow. VISS is a fully co-educational school (with some exceptions such as Middle School Physical Education) and offers a broad range of activities and subjects to ensure a well-rounded education. With a personalised approach to learning, we maintain small class sizes of 20–25 students, and even fewer in the early years, to give each child the attention and support they need to thrive.
Teaching Staff
From the Principal to the classroom assistants, all our academic staff are highly qualified and experienced in accordance with the UAE Ministry of Education requirements.
Our teachers take an active interest in personal professional growth and are encouraged to enhance their skills and qualifications through active involvement in professional development programmes.
Superb Facilities
At VISS, we believe every detail counts. Our unique, innovative and specially designed campus has been designed to support the different phases of learning. These include an Early Years Centre, Primary School and Middle School. Each section has spacious, well equipped modern classrooms and latest technologies. Beyond the classroom we have many shared facilities across the school that support and facilitate our learning programmes.
VISS – TILAL Curriculum
Adapting the best of Australian and international education, our innovative and engaging syllabus is based on core frameworks taught in Australia.
As an authorised PYP School, the curriculum content is delivered through an engaging, challenging transdisciplinary approach designed to develop lifelong learners and global citizens.
Our youngest learners in the Early Years Centre (Nursery, Pre-KG and KG) are introduced to the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. Our primary and middle school students follow the newly revised Australian curriculum (Victorian).
Overall, the curriculum at Victoria International School of Sharjah – Tilal is geared towards developing our children into well-informed, keen, critical thinkers who achieve their full potential intellectually, creatively, physically and emotionally.
Innovation
VISS – Tilal is widely recognised in the Northern Emirates and indeed the region as a leader in innovation. Technology is a tool used by our students to collaborate, create and innovate.
We have a focus on STEM and digital technologies within the curriculum and this is complemented by our focus on innovation within the extra-curricular programmes. All teachers are expected to train as Apple Educators and to share their practice with their colleagues at Tilal and within the group and the region.
VISS has an exceptional IT infrastructure and capacity.
Community
The school hosts annual events such as Eid El Etihad, Pink Day, Flag Day, Book Character Day, Sport Day, House Spirit Day, music and dance concerts. We celebrate our diversity with our “VISS international Day”.
The VISS – Tilal parents are actively involved in many of our events and work tirelessly to support the students and the school.
The school encourages all students to be involved in these activities, either as individuals or as part of a team and so enhance their personal and interpersonal development, as well as their social and civic contributions.
